El Portal de Echaurren is our Gastronomic restaurant, designed by and for enjoyment of the most conceptual cuisine. An ambitious space where to give free rein to imagination and creativity.

In its beginning it was not an easy bet in a small village of barely 2000 inhabitants. Today it boasts of having been the first restaurant in the history of La Rioja to get a star and has also been the first to get the second Michelin star for this region.

Being in La Rioja, it is no easy task to design a wine list for a place like El Portal de Echaurren . The person in charge has to be endowed with great personality, simplicity and, above all, knowledge.

Three characteristics that José Félix (Chefe) Paniego combines. His wine list for El Portal, where he also runs the dininng room, is more than a wine list in itself. It is a book of sincere reflections that speak of the wines, through those who elaborate them. It describes their way of understanding the vineyard, their way of winemaking, their life, in summary.

Viticultores recounts the experiences of established names and many other discoveries that will write the future of the D.O.Ca Rioja and also takes a look at other areas of the rest of Spain and Europe.
