Ezcaray:
OPEN NATURE

Ezcaray is a beautiful mountain village located in the heart of the Sistema Ibérico, in the Sierra de la Demanda. A reference point for nature tourism in Spain, Ezcaray stands out for its unique architecture, its good people and the joy of its terraces and squares. An endearing corner of La Rioja for its history, its gastronomy and its commerce, in short, a perfect place to enjoy and disconnect.

During the winter months the modern Valdezcaray Ski Resort is the best option, but during the autumn, spring or summer, the possibilities multiply: mountain biking, hiking, fishing, hunting or golf.

From Hotel Echaurren, we intend to be accomplices with this type of activities, that is why we will help you in everything we can, offering you a wide range of services that will make your stay a memorable experience.

LA RIOJA: A LAND WITH THE NAME OF WINE

La Rioja is the land with the name of wine. Nothing can be understood without it. It is a reflection of our history. A culture that goes beyond its production or the way it is enjoyed is spread around it. A culture that, starting from tradition, guides us towards the future.

Very close to Ezcaray is Haro, Capital of the Rioja, in whose Barrio de la Estación is the largest concentration of century-old wineries in Spain. Nearby are also the towns of Briones, with its Vivanco Museum of Wine Culture and the so-called wine villages such as Ollauri or San Vicente de la Sonsierra.

In the Alava town of Elciego, a visit to the Wine City of Marqués de Riscal is almost a must for its architecture signed by Frank Ghery.
In autumn, the wine landscapes flood La Rioja with shades of ochre and gold in a sea of calm vineyards after the intense activity of the grape harvest.

Surroundings

Just a few kilometers from Ezcaray, in San Millán de la Cogolla, is the Cradle of Castilian Spanish. In the small Monastery of Suso, the first words of a language that today is spoken by 400 million people in the world were written.

In the valley, the imposing Monastery of Yuso has become a world reference in the study of a language that unites people.
Santo de la Domingo de la Calzada and its cathedral, with its free-standing tower, is a sign of devotion to the pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela.

And throughout the region, Romanesque art left its mark with multiple hermitages that dot the valleys, mountains, slopes and villages for dozens of kilometers around.
